Summer Reading! 📚

Nothing says summer like a little free time and a good book. If you have young readers in your home, here are some things to keep an eye out for:

  1. Little Free Library. Our JHLA Little Free Library will be re-stocked with books for children and young adults every Monday morning throughout the summer, starting on Monday, June 17th.

  2. Summer Reading Program through the Waterford Library (they have one for adults, too!) All information can be found here.

  3. Waterford School District Sweet Reads Van. "The Waterford School District launched its Sweet Reads Bookmobile in 2018, made possible with grant funding from the Waterford Foundation for Public Education and the Mary Lou Simmons Legacy Endowment. The Sweet Reads Bookmobile provides endless opportunities to read this summer and lessen summer reading loss. The Sweet Reads Bookmobile visits designated neighborhoods surrounding the District's nine elementary schools and distributes free books to children. During these visits, children may exchange books for new books and receive free ice cream. The Sweet Reads Bookmobile is staffed by Waterford School District employees and District volunteers." More info including schedule can be found here. Reminders will be posted when dates are approaching.
