Refuse Removal Service Proposals

HELLO FELLOW RESIDENTS

After significant review, Advance Disposal revised service contract appears to provide the best overall cost benefit as well as the most likelihood of our association reaching service contract requirements.

Waste Management proposal was not acceptable since they required that our Home Owners Association request all residents use Waste Management. I believe our residents should make their own decision based upon service contract benefits. In addition, Waste Management comparable service billing costs (both paper & paperless) are higher than Advance except for the annual paperless billing.

Advance Disposal

I have completed a cost study and discussions with Advance Disposal. They have accepted and included virtually all of our residents major concerns into a new proposed 3 yr. service contract (3% Increase yrs 2 & 3) with mail billing. Those improvements include the following:

1. Reduced 1/4ly billing (Trash, Recycle & Yard Waste): Yr 1 $58.50; Yr 2 $60.26; Yr 3 $62.06

Please note that clear plastic bags must only be used for recycle material and not general refuse.

2. Discount for Annual billing (Trash, Recycle & Yard Waste): Yr 1 $215.00; Yr 2 $221.45; Yr 3 $228.09

3. Provide one 96 gallon cart at no charge for TRASH pickup plus additional pick up to 5 bags. Please note to achieve the lower price, all residents must use the 96 gallon cart except for seniors (65 yrs & older) who can use their own containers due to their low trash volume.

4. Increased YARDWASTE from 8 bags to 20 bags

5. Increased YARDWASTE monthly pick up date from April 1 through November 30

6. Increased one BULK pick up from annual to quarterly at no charge

7. Maintain Monday pickup

8. Work on improving telephone wait times

9. Provide a 3 yr service contract supporting price stability and avoiding arbitrary price increases

In order for the new pricing to take effect, Advance Disposal needs to have at least 90% participation from our residents. I believe we currently meet that criteria based upon my observation. The proposed service contract can begin as early as Sept.1/18 based upon Advance Disposal confirmation of our actual 90% participation and one signature representing all of Jayno Heights residents.

NEXT STEPS FOR OUR RESIDENTS

PLEASE REVIEW AND EMAIL ME (cikalorm@yahoo.com) IF YOU ACCEPT OR DO NOT ACCEPT THE PROPOSED SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH ADVANCE DISPOSAL. ALSO, FOR THOSE RESIDENTS THAT INTEND TO SWITCH TO ADVANCE DISPOSAL FROM OTHER DISPOSAL COMPANIES, PLEASE EMAIL ME REGARDING YOUR INTENT TO SWITCH. PLEASE CALL ME OR EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Thanks.

Bob Cikalo (cikalorm@yahoo.com) (248 673 7989)

As of 8/20/18, I currently have received 20% response to my earlier email. We need to respond quickly in order to meet Sept 1 time frame.

Major question that has been asked is as follows:

1. Can I use my plastic containers for Yard Waste instead of paper bags? The answer is YES as long as it is marked as Yard Waste.

Thanks again

Bob Cikalo
